I did a little finishing with "Party Girl"

This is how I finished my little "Party Girl" (a Jean Walter design), something between an ATC (artistic trading card) and a postcard as it is a little bigger in size than your regular ATC (which is the size of a playing card as a rule).
.
I stitched a little border around the picture, put some padding and a rigid piece of stiffener (can't recall the name of it). It is rather rigid and can be used to make fabric bowls, and then stitched the back with the front.
.
A while back now, my best friend Terry who lives in England, had her bag stolen while doing grocery shopping and she lost some embroidered pieces that I had made for her which she was carrying in her handbag and having fun showing them around. Her bag was never found by the police and I knew that she was very sad about it, so I made up my mind that I would slowly restart making more fun little pieces again and sending them her way as little surprises, rebuilding her little collection with some new pieces. They will all be sizes that she can easily carry around with her. They say lightning rarely strike twice at the same place, so hopefully they won't get stolen this time around.
.
I recall those pieces that I had made for her which were stolen: Gardian Angel, Halloween ID card, Fabric envelope so that she could carry them in it. I thought there was something else too, but can't recall.
.
I can now post this blog entry as Terry has just received her little surprise this morning and can't stop laughing. Her husband is there looking at her and wondering what is the matter with her. She has not told him yet, keeping him in suspense a bit longer before she shows it to him :-)
.
Yesterday I ended up not stitching at all, so Angelina is still headless and armless, but should resume my stitching today.

ATCs: Secret Knicker Gang - 2005

I was looking at some of my photos the other day and found this little series of ATCs that were made sometimes during the year of 2005.
It had all started with a joke concerning my good friend Terry. I am a big teaser and she often said to me that she almost peed in her knickers (being from dear old England), so the idea came from that. A little group of friends decided to make her little miniature knickers as a joke and we had the best of time making them and joking amongst ourselves.
Anyway, we kept talking about dropping the knickers at the post office and I guess you see me coming with this and this little series of ATCs were made for me from this little group of friends going all the way from dropping knickers to going to prison.
The names of those who made the ATCs from top left to right going down are: Elaine, Jackie Y., Linda F. Jill, Catharine, Denise and Kerry.
I will have to dig up the little knickers that we all made for Terry and post them on my blog next. I am sure they are in some of my files somewhere :-)

Guardian Angel for a Sick Friend

When a very dear friend of mine got sick, I wanted her to have something special with her that she could bring with her wherever she went which would let her know that she was not alone, that she was loved and that good vibes were coming her way and that all would be allright in the end, which it did :-)

The size is a something between an ATC (Artistic Trading Card) and a postcard. It has for background a lovely cigarette silk print of an angel, which I have outlined with threads, couched a little gold thread around the wings & halo and made some roses with silk ribbons.

Little Clown ATC

This little clown was made for an ATC (Artistic Trading Card). I saw this cute little clown drawing and wanted to use it to make an ATC. This is how it turned out.
