Desire: Moving along

Now, it is starting to look like Susan Portra's finished ornament. Still a bit more work to do like some couching to add on the long tramé stitches and the bugle beads and of course the hard to find 5 cabochons with rimsets.
-
Am still wondering about the finishing that has been done on it as to what it is exactly. I know that I can probably do it if I can only get a clear picture in my mind as to what it is. I will probably have to sleep on it but there is no rush before the ornament is all completed and for that I need to find those cabochons with rimsets or substitute them with some other stitches. If someone who is reading this entry have some ideas as to where I can find them, please let me know. I can be easily contacted at LovetoStitch99@comcast.net

I agree its now looking like the picture and perhaps you can find an alternaive to the missing beads as I would not have thought it that difficult to have a 'Ruby' diamonte encased in gold thread like a shiska mirror

I have several in this series in my stash, and only a couple of them are complete with the cabochons. You can always use Rhodes stitches, or jessicas with a fill in stitch. (I think we can both do jessicas in our sleep after the Wurth pieces!)

Pierette,
Great progress!
Michael's carries these, and if you don't have one of those, you might try Ruth Schmuff as she uses them. Also might try Fire Mountain Gems-online, as they carry tons of stuff!

Bonjour Anne,

Terry,

That is certainly a possibility. If I can't find the real thing, I will have to improvise.

Jeanne,

You are so right, we could both do Jessicas in our sleep after all the ones Jim made us do :-)

I have indeed been thinking that if I don't find the Cabochons, I may do some golden Jessicas with some red metallic fillings.

Pat,

I have just checked Michael's online and could not find them, but the stores might have some.

As for Fire Mountains web site, could not see any rim sets but have written to them explaining what I need and will see if I get lucky or not.

Thanks for your help!
