Terra Rosa; Top of Storage jar

I have done a bit more on my storage jar, at least the top part of it.
.
Now, I need to move on to Olla or water jar that is located on its left side before continuing on this one as the shape of all the vases/jars/plates that are in front needs to be as perfect as possible. Since they are covering part of the vases/jars/plates that are behind them and at this point in time I can't be entirely sure where my outlines are going to be, I am not taking any chances here. Better be safe than sorry, as they say. Not sure why I am telling you all this as this is not rocket science (grinning)

Photo above shows what has been done: Double necked wedding jar and shallow bowl.
.
If you look at the smaller round vase, second one from the right which is the Olla or water jar, this is the one I am going to start working on now. Its colors are dark yellow, blue and black. Once that water jar is all stitched then I will be returning to the storage jar on the far right and complete it, then I will work on the middle which is a flat plate keeping the bridal basket behind the pink bowl for last. All that will remain to be done at that point will be the numerous borders. There is still a long way to go before I reach that point.
.
My camera's batteries were almost dead when I took those pictures but there was still just enough juice in them to take those two :-)

Pierrette,

What a lovely design. It would look great in my family room (three adobe colored walls and one teal wall). It is a lovely piece.

I judged for the ANG award at our local fair this morning. Five gorgeous pieces and then a bunch of ordinary stuff.

What a beautiful project you are working on. I've only done two pieces on canvas. What I did like was the wholes were even (unlike linen-which I'm working with now) and once you put it on the stretcher bars it stays put until you take it off. It doesn't seem to get warped or get loose like a hoop or qsnaps (even with material or paper towel to keep it in place)

Great work so far. I can't wait to watch it progress!

If you're having trouble with irregularities in the line drawing, you might want to count the figure you're working with first. Be sure you have a mirror image on each side, and correct with a light colored permanent fabric marker any discrepancies. It will then be so much easier to stitch--rather than counting constantly as you go along.

Hi Rinda,

........ so this piece would look great in your family room :-)

Too bad for you as it will also look great in mine as I also have a lovely collection of native American pots (grinning)

Hi Pat,

I just love those jars too. Loved that design the moment I saw it.

Hi Mary,

I know what you mean. The feel between canvas and linen is quite different.

The only problem for me anyway is that with canvas, you are limited to some extent as I cheat to the shapes you are creating. Very hard to make a round shape really really round.

Hi Anne,

Thanks for the tip. It is a good thing that I feel at home with counted work. Otherwise it would drive me nut :-)
