I have just this minute completed all the stitching on this latest ornament from Jim Wurth. This one has a Christmas theme and is quite different to the rest of the series which you can see here.

You can see candles, bows of different sizes and colors, wreaths, etc.

All the time I was stitching it, I could not decide whether I liked it or not. I like the individual components, just not sure that I like the overall look, if you get my meaning. It is like when you have this feeling that something is not quite right but can't quite put your finger on it.

It is still a nice ornament as I don't think that Jim could create anything ugly even if he tried, but this one will need some getting used to it. On the other hand some of you may just absolutely love it. I would love to hear from you either here in the comment section or if you prefer just write to me at LovetoStitch99@comcast.net

I love this ornament. I love gold and green metallic threads although they are a pain to stitch. The beads make the ornament beautiful as well. I loved watching it come to live.

This is really pretty and unusual and not sure why but it looks as if something is missing from it, will have a think about it and let you know.
You have stitched it beautifully but I think that many of the other ornaments in the series seems to have an extra quality about them and this one seems a little lacking perhaps its because there is so much canvas showing compared to his other designs that are really full of stitches, I understand the concept of a Christmas tree but something just seems to be missing

I'm with Mary, I just love this. I think the stitches and colors are cool and I love the way it is both a peace sign and a tree.

I'm like you... there is something not quite right with this one. Maybe it is just a little too sparse. I am behind on mine, and will probably leave this one to the last.

I've enjoyed watching you stitch this design!
I've been looking at it and I think what is catching everyone's eye is that it's a more "modern" ornament than the other ones in the series. There is more space in the background than what Jim usually uses and the tree limbs are very graphic as opposed to looking like real/natural tree limbs.
I'm wondering if those who like the design are more drawn to more modern designs and those who aren't as fond of the ornament like more traditional designs. Anyone willing to comment?
I do like it but I'm not sure I would want to stitch more than one of these type of ornaments. Now to answer my own question, I'm more drawn to folk art and traditional designs than modern styles.

I think what I don't like about it is that it is neither abstract nor representational. It's in between. I feel like it fell somewhere in the middle and can't get up. This is the only one of the ornaments that I went yuck! as soon as I saw it.
