Patches of Snow: Middle section completed

Done a little more beading on Patches of Snow. I like beading, but I wish there would be a little more stitching and a little less beading on this one, a bit like the little Emerald one I made some time ago.
.
On another note, I have found a new series of adventure books recently, quite by chance as I was investigating something else. They are called the Amelia Peabody Mystery series written by Elizabeth Peters. The first one of the series and the only one I have read so far is called Crocodile on the Sandbank and it did not take too long before I found myself hooked by that new series.
.
I was lucky enough to be able to visit Egypt a few times in the past and I have always been fascinated with archeology, so this newly discovered adventure/mystery series is absolutely perfect for me. I thought I would share in the event that some of you might like to investigate this series a bit further.
.
Whenever I need to relax a bit, there is nothing better for me than a good book to do the trick. I read a bit and then I can go back to my stitching a bit refreshed.

Hi Pierrette,

Lovely beadwork and when I looked at the picture closely I could see what you meant. Lot's of beads!

It's looking beautiful and I'm looking forward to seeing this finished as a stocking.

Terry,

The best purchase I have ever made was to get myself a sticky bead holder (can't remember the name but that is the same kind I have given you).

Before that, I was always spilling, loosing beads and now, almost never unless one bead decides to jump over (lol)

Thanks, Pat & Cyn.

I keep the finishing for those days that I just don't want to stitch and need to take a break.

Finishing is so different, at least to me, from stitching that it gives me a nice break and of course the incentive to have another completed project does not hurt either :-)

I will try to finish it like the photo as it is a bit like my emerald mini stocking and the finisher had done a fantastic job with that one.

When I started stitching, I was giving my pieces to the finisher to do for me, but rarely anymore.

If I can find a way to finish it nicely, I much prefer to do it myself.

Oh, oh, the sticky bead holder is called a Tacky BOB!!! I just reviewed one for CQMagOnline.com!!!! LOL I am sorry the beadwork is getting tedious, but it *is* lovely.

Beautiful piece, Pierrette.

Did you know that Elizabeth Peters has a few other series and that she also writes as Barbara Michaels -- gothic and supernatural thrillers. Her real name is Barbara G. Mertz, she wrote a non-fiction book on ancient Egypt under that name.

A good place to find info on what other books an author has written is: http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/

Your work is absolutely gorgeous! Have you seen my little beading technique? really really easy, uses half the beads, and goes much faster with the same effect.

Thanks Rissa for reminding me of the name "Tacky Bob". That is truly one of the best thing I ever purchase for my stitching. I would recommend it very highly to anyone who does even just a little bit of beading.

Gothic and supernatural thriller, that seems exciting. Will have to look that out when I getting close to the end of this series.

I purchased the whole series of Amelia and I am only on her second book of that series. Not much time to read unfortunately with all these stitching projects but it is nice to have some enjoyable reading when I need a break from all of it.

Beading technique?

Judy, oh I wish you had told me where exactly you wrote that as you have so many blog entries.

When I have a bit of time, I will go and read it all as your blog is quite interesting and beautiful.
