Camelot: Dodecagon Ornament Series

Just finished stitching the 9th ornament of the Dodecagon Series designed by Jim Wurth. This one is called "Camelot" and is so pretty and sparkling.
-
I find it so aggravating not to be able to take photos showing all the sparkling that these ornaments have. The picture does not even begin to do it justice. It is absolutely beautiful.
-
I was looking at all the 9 ornaments that I have received and stitched so far, 3 more remaining, and they are all so beautiful that it is almost impossible to pick a favorite. If you want to refresh your memory and have a look at all of them, it might be easier to check my Webshots photo album.
-
I am always amazed to see what Jim can do with the same basic shape "dodecagon" and variations of some of the same stitches and come up with all these designs.
-
Another thing that for me I find interesting. It is the fact that many of them are not even in my favorite colors, which are the earth tones, and it turns out that I love all those color combinations.
-
This one was stitched in record time for me as I see myself as a slow stitcher. I started working on it sometimes on Sunday and here I am Thursday noon time and it is all finished. I feel like I just run a marathon. I will probably take the rest of the day off, trying to catch up with some home chores and REST before I continue working on my other already started projects.

Another beautifully stitched project and this one is truly lovely.

So now we can call you Queen of the flying needle as you have certainly earned that title on this project.

Well done

I must admit that this is good for productivity, but way too taxing on my back. Will go back to a much slower pace, which is more in keeping with my personality.

It looks great! I've stalled a bit on this, because I haven't felt like laying threads the past few days!

I had been thinking that this was #10, but I can't remember any others beyond those in your album. Thanks for the reality check!

Jeanne,

Laying threads is something that I have always enjoyed doing. It does slow you down considerably though.

You will love the Jean Hilton central stitch. The photo had not prepared me for the effect that it makes.

Three more ornaments to go. I think we will be getting our last one in November of 2008 since we are receiving one every 3 months now, so we just got one in Feb. making the tenth one in May, then the eleventh one in August and finally our last one in November, which means that I will have them hopefully framed for Christmas of 2008. Perhaps I can get my husband to offer me that framing for Christmas as it probably will be an expensive one framing all 12 in the same frame (big grin)
